Dismiss the Energy minister-TOR workers
Audrey Agyiri-Inkoom, Ghanadot

Accra, April 13, Ghanadot - Some workers of Tema Oil Refinery, led by their Union leader, are demanding the immediate dismissal of the Energy Minister, Dr. Joseph Oteng Adjei, his deputy and other top officials for alleged incompetence in managing the nation’s oil refinery.

The workers alleged that the Energy Minister and his deputy are disrupting the efforts of the Government to acquire oil from Nigeria's Sahara and other oil suppliers to ensure adequate supply of oil at all times.

To them, the Minister has allegedly declared that only the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC, must supply TOR with oil, leading to regular shortages.

The over 500 agitated workers present at the crunch meeting held on Tuesday morning, said while President Mills is delivering on his campaign promises the people around him are not performing.

According to the workers the government must remove from office the Energy Minister, his deputy, some board chairmen of TOR and GNPC including Ato Ahwoi.

Early this year, some workers of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) called for the removal of Dr Kwame Ampofo, the acting Managing Director, the management and entire board of directors of the company on grounds of incompetence.
