Nana Addo begins five-day tour of the northern part of Western Region

Bibiani (W/R), Sept. 25, Ghanadot/GNA - Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured the people of Ghana that he was prepared to continue with the good works of President John A Kufour.

He said although the President could not complete some of the works he started, “I am ready to continue and even add more”.
Nana Addo was speaking at separate rallies at Bibiani, Sefwi Bekwai and Ankwamanso in the Amenfi Central of the Western Region on Tuesday.

This marked the beginning of a five-day tour of the northern parts of the Western Region.

He pointed out that, when elected as the President, he would ensure that the school feeding programme, which is on a pilot basis becomes accessible to all schools across the country.

Nana Addo said education ws his priority and he would do all in his power to ensure that the lives of teachers became better, adding that, “I will ensure that teachers do not have problems with their salaries”.

This, he said, will help in ensuring that teaching and learning in the various schools becomes effective and efficient.

The NPP Flag bearer explained that he entered into politics not for fame or to become prosperous, but to share his knowledge in politics, to enhance the country's democracy.

“I have come into politics to do more and move the nation forward,” he stressed.

Nana Addo urged all Ghanaians to avoid acts that could mar the peace the country was enjoying, saying, “the world is looking up to Ghana as a nation which is peaceful, let us avoid tribal politics. We want politics of solidarity”.

Odeneho Gyapong Ababio II, President of the National House of Chiefs and the Omanhene of the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, said chiefs were enthused that NPP had elected a flag bearer who was confident and competent to lead the people.

“President Kufour has done a lot,” adding, “he has already paved the way and there is the need for someone to continue”.
He urged Nana Akufo Addo to remember Sefwi Bekwai when he voted into power.

“When you come into power, we need a new district. Sefwi Bekwai should be carved from Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai District for us to have more development project,” he requested.

He urged all to rally behind the NPP, saying, “when we have given them power, we will be able to ask them whatever we need in our area”.

Madam Grace Omaboe, an actress, noted that several governments have come into power, but this current government has helped to improve the living conditions of the people.

She mentioned the National Health Insurance Scheme, school feeding programme, free maternal care among others as some of the interventions of government that has help to improve the lives of the people.

“Look at the roads, stadia, school and other things that the government has constructed and continues to do”, she said, adding, “Let us vote for the NPP to continue with its good works”.

She encouraged all to spread the good news about the NPP wherever they found themselves for the party to win the December general elections.
