Kumasi Market and matters arising out of the Daasebre trial
Georgette Djaba, Lawyer and correspondent, UK

According to Titus Evans, also known as Bishop T, the chief executive of GBC One Radio in London, a witness for the prosecution, one Patrick Donkor, is the owner of Kumasi Market.

Kumasi Market is a grocery shop in Peckham, South East London. Patrick Donkor is also a music producer.

Donkor was a witness to the crown prosecution, because
he had been mentioned by Daasebre to customs officials at Heathrow that he was going to put up with him while in London.

Daasebre and Donkor were both travelers on the same plane. When their plane landed at Heathrow, Daasebre had spotted Donkor and called him by name and said to him '' I will see you later'', to which he said ok.

When the prosecutor, Mr.Martin Griffins called Donkor to the stand he explained to Mr.Griffins that Daasebre and himself had only met that morning.

The defence Lawyer for Daasebre Mr Joe Stone then asked Donkor how well he had known Daasebre to which he replied that he sometimes did business with him.

"What sort of business?

"I bought the rights of his latest CD called 'I Beg' " was the reply.

Mr Stone then asked Donkor to tell what sort of person Daasebre was. He replied by saying very nice things about Daasebre.

"He is well spoken, well mannered gives enough respect to people and is well respected in the community."

After which he was given permission to leave.

As reported, Patrick Donkor was a witness for the prosecution so he was testifying against Daasebre.
