Bayor donates to Teshie Orphanage
Accra, Nov 20, GNA – Adjoa Bayor, skipper of Ghana’s Women’s
football team, the Black Queens has donated food items worth
about 10 million cedis to the Teshie Orphanage in Accra.
The items include bags of rice, sugar, gallons of oil,
biscuits and bars of variety of soap among others.
The creative midfielder said her donation was to express a
token of her love for those in need, especially children in
dire need for care and attention.
“I deemed this timely, especially with the Christmas
festivities fast approaching, coupled with my personal
desire to reach out to those in need”.
Bayor asked the children to pray for the team to enable them
to achieve their desired dream of ruling Africa and to make
a lasting impression when they make their third appearance
at the FIFA World Cup in the Republic of China in 2007.
Janet Parker, owner of the Orphanage expressed gratitude for
the player’s kind gesture and called on others to emulate
her example.
She called on the government to give the Queens equal
assistance as the Black Stars to propel them to greater
height.
Bayor led the Queens to pick silver at the just ended
African Women Championship (AWC) staged in Warri, Delta
State, Nigeria.
She remains one of the few experienced players in the team,
having made all previous five appearances at the AWC.
