Oda Constituency NDC holds victory get-together

Akyem Oda Jan. 22, Ghanadot/GNA - Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe, National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged party supporters to work harder toward holding on to power come the 2012 general election.

She advised them to guard against petty squabble that would divide their ranks and give their political opponents the chance to capitalize on that situation.

Mrs Benyiwa Doe was speaking at a victory get-together organized by the Akyem Oda Constituency branch of the NDC at Akyem Oda to celebrate the party’s victory in last year’s general election.

“This is the time for us to be united and not to be deceived by negative propaganda of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” she said.

Mrs Benyiwa Doe appealed to the supporters to stand firm and work hard at their branches and not to leave the organization of the party in the hands of only a few executive.

She said the task ahead of the NDC government was great, but with determination and hard work they would overcome all difficulties to be able to turn the economy round and bring “smiles to the faces of Ghanaians”.

Mrs Benyiwa Doe tasked the supporters to be vigilant to ensure that no government property was looted from the Municipal Assembly pending the appointment of a substantive Municipal Chief Executive for the area.

Mr Bismarck Tawiah- Boateng, Eastern Regional Organizer of the NDC, commended the supporters for their handwork, which enabled the party to maximize votes in the area.

He assured them that their efforts would not be in vain as plans were far ahead to open up job opportunities in the area to enable them to be gainful employed.

Ms Evelyn Korang, Regional Women’s Organizer appealed to the supporters not to antagonize their political opponents but to woo more of them into the party.

She said the party’s victory in the election was the work of God and advised them not to do anything ungodly.
Mr Kojo Attah-Krah, NDC parliamentary candidate for the constituency in the election assured them of government’s commitment to fulfil its campaign promises to ensure that all Ghanaians live in dignity.

He therefore appealed to all to be patient while government tackles the numerous problems left behind by the previous government.
