I can collapse NPP - P.C Appiah-Ofori
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, Oct 9, Ghanadot - Hon. P.C. Appiah-Ofori, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, has declared that persons in the NPP pushing him to come out with “documents” to prove his bribery allegations against some NPP legislators should hold their fire because the party could “collapse” if he does that.

The MP who has widely been described as an anti-corruption campaigner, said this when he reacted to a Daily Guide report that he had backtracked on his allegation that “NPP MPs from 2005 to 2009 had collected $5000” to approve Vodafone’s acquisition of 70% share of state-owned Ghana Telecom.

Speaking on Joy FM, he said certain individuals within the NPP were putting pressure on him to substantiate the allegation which has for some time now torched off a huge loathing for him in his own party.

“There is a pressure group within the party [which wants] me to come with documents to prove…if I come out…this party will collapse irretrievably.”

According to him, the disciplinary committee of the party erred in a letter to him to clarify the allegations he had made against the MPs.

“I’ve not in any way said that NPP MPs collected GH¢5,000. I said GH¢5,000. There is a difference between $5000 and GH¢5000,” he said, emphasizing that he still stood by his allegations against his colleagues.
