Time to fulfill promise to the PNC, Mahama to Mills
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, May 7, Ghanadot - The 2008 flag bearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has called on President Mills and the NDC to fulfill their side of the agreement to the PNC. He said during the run-off the ruling government made some promises to the party that needs to be fulfilled.

He said some executives of the PNC must be given such positions in the Mills administration and the time has come for that to happen, adding that the party's support for the NDC has been enormous.

The medical doctor debunked perceptions saying the party is not for old people as others think, adding that the perception out there that the party’s leadership and grassroots supporters are old persons who have little energies to drive the fortunes of the party is never true.

According to him, the party has alot of younger people and also younger executives who are working hard to ensure the party wins the next general elections.

Mr. Mahama who was speaking on Citi FM, mentioned the youth organiser and the General Secretary of the party as some of the youth who have made the PNC vibrant and more youthful.

He said it was never true that the poor performance of the PNC in the last election was because it was not appealing to the electorate but rather the people of Ghana made their choice by electing the NDC to power.

Mr. Mahama was however optimistic that the leadership and grassroots support for the party are still vibrant, and that the party is preparing aggressively for its congress to elect new executives soon.
