Sellas Tetteh calls for fair officiating by referees

Abrankese, (Ash), Dec.13, Ghanadot/GNA – The assistant coach of Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals F.C., Sellas Tetteh has urged referees to ensure fair officiating of matches to make the on-going Onetouch Premier League become a success.

He said the referees should be bold to take decisions on the field of play, despite the challenges that they may face especially from home fans and club officials.

Coach Tetteh said this to the GNA Sports after his side beat Kessben F.C. 2-1 at the Anane Boateng Stadium at Abrankese near Kumasi on Wednesday.

Commenting about the match, the coach expressed dissatisfaction about the performance of Referee T. K. Aggrey, who handled the match, saying most of the decisions he took were questionable.

He appealed to the Referee’s Appointment Committee (RAC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) not to hesitate to call to book referees who do not conduct themselves well in the performance of their duties.

Coach Tetteh commended his players for their determination, discipline and commitment to achieve success which, he said, enabled them to beat Kessben at their home base.

The assistant coach said the technical team of the club was stepping up their training of the players to put them in good condition to make it possible for the Club win its first Premier League title.
