LOC outlines media plan for Ghana 2008
Accra, July 30, GNA – The Local Organising Committee (LOC)
for Ghana 2008 has outlined the media plan for the African
Cup of Nations in their quest to make the event a memorable
one.
The media plan is to keep the media updated on the issues
relating to 26th edition of the continent’s showpiece which
spans January 20 – February 10.
Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the LOC
told GNA Sports that the Secretariat has outlined some
educational and informative packages for the media from now
till October.
He disclosed that from August 16-17, the LOC will organise
the second CAF/ LOC Media Seminar for the local media
followed by the third in September.
Among issues to be discussed at both seminars include
accreditation for the competition and guidelines to covering
the biennial event.
The COO added in October, the LOC will host the first ever
seminar for the international press to update them with the
requisite information regarding the competition.
The LOC organised the first ever CAF/LOC Media Seminar in
March, which was graced by Suleiman Habuba, Communications
Director of Africa’s soccer controlling body.
