Netball Association invites players for camping towards African Youth tournament

Accra, Feb. 18, Ghanadot/GNA – The Netball Association of Ghana has invited 21 players to report for camping at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, Kaneshie, Accra to prepare towards an Africa Youth Netball Tournament scheduled for the Namibian capital, Windhoek in April this year.


The first phase of the camping will take place from 27 February to March 7 after which the selected players would be pruned down to a final list of 14 to form the nucleus of the national netball team, the Young Maidens.


Reverend Emmanuel D. Nikoi, Chairman of the Association in a press release copied to GNA Sports on Wednesday said the players were selected from the National Teacher Training Colleges Sports Festival in Tamale, the National Basic Schools Sports Festival in Cape Coast as well as the National Netball tournament in Kumasi.


The invited players are made up of Vida Sapomah, Hamida Abdallah, Rebecca Zanore and Doris Whyte all of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Central Region, Rachel Nettey, Victoria Amoah, Eunice Sackey and Rebecca Ashong of the GES, Greater Accra Region.


The others are Elizabeth Ankrah of Kaneshie Secondary Technical School, Accra, Jennifer Tettey of Ningo Senior High School, Old Ningo, Charity Agbozalu and Grace Tekper of GES, Eastern Region.


The rest are Delphine Hugbenke of Mount Mary College of Education, Florence Manu of Saint Louis College of Education, Kumasi, Amina Braimah, GES, Western Region, Priscilla Agbetsame of GES, Greater Accra Region.


Angela Boateng of Greater Accra Region as well as Alimo Forgive, Kannor Ruth, Ernestina Tetewayo and Kisi Akor all of Dangme East GES at Ada in the Greater Accra Region complete the list of invited players.


Rev. Nikoi called on District Sports Organisers to ensure that they inform players invited from the areas to endeavour to report at the Kaneshie Azumah Nelson Sports Complex on 27th February at 6 p.m without fail.
