Castagna wins Achimota Captain's Prize Golf

Accra, Feb. 17, GNA - Eduardo Castagna returned a net score of 64 to beat Peter Abrokwah on count-back to win this year's Achimota Golf Club Captain's Prize Championship played at the Achimota Golf course in Accra on Saturday.


Nicolo Catto took the third position with 66 net, Van Luit was fourth with 68 net while Kofi Addo placed fifth with 69 net beating Daniel Awuah-Darko on count-back.


Margaret Mwanakatwe won the Ladies event with 67 net, Elizabeth Aku Yabah placed second with 70 net beating Comfort Amuzu and Eunice Adzakpo on count-back while Francisca Vandyck placed fifth with 71 net.


In the Junior’s category, Daniel List came first with 44 gross while P. Supiner took the second position with 46 gross with the third position going to B. Supiner with 55 gross.


The One-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition which was open to amateur golfers of the Achimota Golf Club, was sponsored by Mr Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club.


Mr Saarah-Mensah thanked the participants for the exhibiting good sportsmanship during the competition and expressed the hope that similar sportsmanship will be exhibited next year.


Mr Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club assisted Mr Saarah-Mensah to present prizes to the winners.
