Ashgold hold Sportive

Tema, Feb. 7, GNA-Obuasi Ashantigold drew 0-0 with Tema Real Sportive in their GT Onetouch Outstanding Premier League match played at the Tema Sports Stadium on Wednesday.


The match, watched by a sparse crowd saw both teams fighting for the opener as they fumbled in front of goal.


It was Sportive who nearly went ahead in the 15th minute, but Nana Yaw fumbled in front of goal.


The match became a ding-dong affair from then on and both teams failed to score during the first session.


On resumption, Ashantigold nearly went ahead but Mubarak Wakaso fumbled in front of goal in the 60th minute.


Two minutes later, Umar Gariba of Sportive had a good chance to score but saw his kick being saved by goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda of Ashantigold.


Ashantigold nearly had the last laugh when Prince Antwi was put through but saw his terrific shot being saved by goalkeeper James Nannor of Sportive in the 86th minute.


Mubarak Wakakso of Ashantigold won the best player of the match award.
