Shakira to hit market this month
By Masahudu Ankiilu Kunateh, Ghanadot

Accra, July 16, Ghanadot - The much awaited romantic movie entitled “Shakira” will hit the Ghanaian movie scene this month, after defying the Obama publicity shut out to preview it in Accra last week.

The Shakira, which is collaboration between Gupado and Marhills Production, has excellent screen play, intertwined plot and full of suspense was shot entirely in Ghana with Ghanaian and Nigerian actors and actresses.

The actors and actresses are Kofi Adjorlolo, Majid Michel, Martha Ankomah, Prince Dave Osei, Mercy Johnson, Eddie Nartey and Biola Ege.

The Shakira will be premiered at the National Theatre on 25th July, 2009 in the evening and will showing concurrently at the Silverbird Cinema.

A synopsis of the movie saw a young lawyer Richie (Majid Michel) who seeks a new life far from his past after seeing his fiancée in bed with his boss in his office.

Attempts for Richie to forget this unpleasant behaviour by his boss and move on with his life lands him in a world of a sexy, desperate and ambitious young woman called Shakira (Mercy Johnson) who was looking for someone to use as instrument to achieve her selfish aim of eliminating her wealthy husband (Kofi Adjorlolo) to inherit his estate and other property.

Richie falls in love with Shakira and also wanted to use her to forget his bitter past. Will Richie succeed in using his new fond love to erase his bitter experience or will Shakira have the better of her poodle to achieve her aims? Watch out!

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr Macdavies Pascal Odikah said the movie was a must-watch one and appealed to Ghanaians to patronage it and also turn in their numbers to buy the tickets for the premier, next week.
