Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng declares, the Lord will fight for him

Ho, Dec. 08, Ghanadot/GNA - Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, former Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Friday described the December 05 balloting for position on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) December 22 Special National Delegates Congress Ballot Paper as a good omen for democracy.

"My number 14 position on the ballot paper is a divine one, taking inspiration from Exodus Chapter 14 verse 14, which says, The Lord will fight for you, but you must keep quiet," Prof. Frimpong-Boateng told newsmen at Sogakope in the Volta region after meeting potential delegates.

Sounding prophetic, NPP Presidential Aspirant said "it’s the Lord who would fight for me: Though I have contacted the potential delegates, share the message of hope and deliverance I know that victory that am counting on must nevertheless come from the Lord".

"God says, in this instance, that He will fight for me but I must keep quiet, stressing that the contrast between the Lord's action and my silence is a wonderful picture of the Biblical concept of grace, where we merely trust, while God does the work," Prof Frimpong-Boateng stated.

The Cardiothoracic Surgeon explained that he entered into the contest to become the flag bearer of the ruling NPP for Elections 2008 to address challenges resulted from problems associated with increase in the population size and complexity of the society as well as the management of its interaction with other populations' for example, managing the effects of globalization on a developing economy.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng reiterated: "There is a crisis in leadership. One of the most universal cravings of our time is a hunger for compelling and creative leadership."

He emphasised that the problem of the absence of creative and visionary leadership however, seems to be acute in the so-called third world countries, especially in Africa.

The Heart Surgeon stated: "I stand for prompt, vigorous action and challenged the delegates to cast their vote for Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng as the flag bearer of the NPP for Elections 2008, this is the time to elect a winnable candidate for the party.

"Prof Kwabena Frimpng-Boateng would inspired a new vision and enthusiasm in Ghanaians. Kwame Nkrumah's dynamism contributed to the political emancipation of the African continent. J.B. Danquah's unflinching belief in democracy and the rule of law laid the foundation for a political system, which had survive decades in the opposition.”
