Central Region Police identifies 53 flash points

Cape Coast, Oct. 3, Ghanadot/GNA - The new Central Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Akayire Kamparah has said his outfit has identified 53 flash points out of the 1,763 polling stations in the region and was therefore putting adequate measures in place to strengthen security before, during and after the December general election.

Consequently, a regional election security taskforce has been established under his leadership to help facilitate a peaceful and incident free election by beefing up security at those flash points and constantly monitoring the situation there to forestall violence.

Mr Kamparah told journalists in Cape Coast that the over 2,500 police personnel in the region will receive support from the other security agencies to help maintain law and order since few pockets of violence were being anticipated.

He advised political party supporters to comport themselves and also go by the rules in respect of permit for rallies that would be on first come first serve basis.
