Peace is a prime responsibility – Rt. Rev. Boabeng

Essikado (W/R), Sept. 27, GNA - Leaders of Christian organisations have been urged to promote peace as a prime responsibility for their members in the upcoming elections in December.

The Very Reverend Joseph Ignatius Boabeng, Superintendent Minister in charge of the Essikado Circuit of the Methodist Church, said it was time the various religious leaders took practical steps in the quest for peace and unity particularly among the various political parties, rather than just talk about it.

He said this at a crusade to climax the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Church at Essikado near Sekondi on Friday, on the theme: “Rescue the perishing”.

Rev Boabeng said it was imperative upon Christians to lead exemplary lives in their communities.

The Church, he said, had to intensify its evangelism and membership drive to give more people the opportunity to know and receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

Bible quiz, fun games and bible studies among the various organizations within the circuit, were some of the activities organised to mark the anniversary.
