Drivers and market women should not be marginalised in
governance – Dr Nduom
Breman Asikuma (C/R), GNA – Dr Papa Kwesi
Nduom, Convention People’s Party (CPP) flag bearer said
drivers and market women were the agents of transmitting
information across the world and that they should not be
marginalised in terms of governance of the country.
Dr Nduom said this when he interacted with the drivers of
the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and the
market women as part of his tour to introduce himself to the
Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa CPP Constituency executives of the
party.
He said drivers carried passengers who possessed information
about politics all over the world on their journeys
therefore such organisations must be recognised and catered
for.
Dr Nduom introduced Mrs Comfort Wilson Aggrey as the CPP
candidate to contest Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa parliamentary
seat in December 2008.
The CPP flag bearer appealed to the people to vote massively
for the party for better governance.
The other contestants for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa
parliamentary seat are the incumbent Member of Parliament Mr
P.C. Appiah Ofori, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mrs Georgina
Nkromah Aboa, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mr
Anthony Frempong, Independent Candidate.
Mr Jacob Quashie, Chairman of the GPRTU expressed
appreciation to Dr Nduom for finding time to inform them of
what the CPP intended to do for drivers and market women
when his party came to power and assured him of the support
of the members of union.
