Scouts from United Kingdom
and Hohoe begin work on training complex
Hohoe, July 30, Ghanadot/GNA - A 50-member delegation of
the United Kingdom Scouts, in collaboration with Hohoe Youth
Scout, started the construction of a multi-purpose training
complex at Hohoe estimated to cost GHc 220,000.
It would comprise a conference hall, an Internet café,
office and store.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency Mr George Devine, Head of
UK-Africa Scout and leader of the delegation, said the
facility would serve as a one-stop complex for capacity
building and empowerment for community members and scouts on
disaster management, first aid and bushfire management.
He said the complex was aimed at promoting scouting
activities in Ghana and is being funded with the help of the
UK Scout fraternity.
A delegation led by Ms Jo Busby, Expedition Officer of UK
Scout, presented medical items worth GHc 3,000 to the Hohoe
Municipal Hospital. The items include syringe, optical
glasses, sterilizers, needles, and books.
She said Ve-Dafor Zion, Saint Francis Junior High School,
Holy Rosary Junior High School and the Hohoe Municipal
Assembly would be presented with six computers each to deep
relations between scouts and the community.
Mrs Rejoice Kreponi, Administrator of the hospital, thanked
UK Scouts for the donation.
