Sinare yet to inform NDC of
resignation
Accra, July 29,
Ghanadot/GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on
Tuesday said it was yet to receive the letter of resignation
of its Second National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Said Sinare
from the party.
“Alhaji Sinare has not informed the party of his decision to
resign; we heard it in the news and I cannot comment of
speculations until we receive a formal resignation letter
from our National Vice,” Mr Baba Jamal, a Deputy General
Secretary of the Party, told the Ghana News Agency in an
interview in Accra.
“If it is true, our honourable gentleman would use the right
channel to communicate to the party hierarchy,” he said.
Alhaji Sinare, former NDC Member of Parliament for Ayawaso
Central, who lost the seat in 1996 to Sheikh I. C. Quaye,
the current Greater Accra Regional Minister, announced his
resignation to some private radio stations in Accra, saying
another senior NDC member, Mr Ato Ahwoi should know whey he
has quit the party. Mr. Ahwoi says he has no idea why ALhaji
Sinare resigned.
He was elected as the Second National Vice Chairman in
December 22, 2005 at the NDC’s Sixth National Delegates’
Conference in the Eastern Region capital, Koforidua, under
the theme: “United for Victory 2008”.
Meanwhile another Deputy General Secretary, Mr Elvis Afriyie
Ankrah, said the party would do everything possible to bring
Alhaji Sinare back to the party if the purported resignation
was true.
He said he did not have a clue about the reason for his
resignation.
