Ghana to host African Campus of China Europe International Business School

Accra, July 21, Ghanadot/GNA – Ghana has been selected to host the African Campus of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), one of the world’s top ranking business training institutions.

It has campuses in Spain, Argentina, Mexico and Shanghai.

Professor Pedro Neuno, Executive President of the School, broke the news to President John Agyekum Kufuor, when he led a delegation made up of leaders of business, to pay a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu on Monday.

It would be housed at the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
President Kufuor said the decision by the school to establish in Ghana was refreshing, noting that, it would enable the country to groom the personnel to take advantage of the growing business opportunities resulting from the expansion of the economy.

Within the space of about three years, a number of leading banks from Africa and other parts of the world had been attracted to operate in the country.

The privilege of having such an institution, he said, would help the nation to come by best practices and assist the youth to have the needed insights into business.

The Government for the past seven and a-half years has made private sector growth, one of the key pillars of its development agenda.
President Kufuor said business, these days, needed to be taught along scientific and technological lines.

He described the choice of Ghana as a “pat on the back” that the nation was doing things right. It has an enabling environment to build business and entrepreneurs for Africa.

Professor Neuno said they settled on Ghana after careful research and that the one thing that came out after their working session in the country was that the decision was correct.
