Financial stocks push up index

Accra, July 21, Ghanadot/GNA – Buoyed by gains in the financial stocks, the GSE-All Share Index, the benchmark index of the Accra Bourse, begin the week with a rise of 4.46 points.


The index rallied to close at 10,572.38 points compared to 10,567.92 points.


Change year to date now stands at 60.19 per cent.


Traded volumes closed the session at 55,300 shares down from Friday’s close of 686,200 shares.


Four equities saw positive price gains during the session. Ecobank Ghana Limited went up by GH¢0.01 at GH¢4.20, Standard Chartered Bank gained GH¢0.05 at GH¢35.15, Enterprise Insurance Company appreciated by GH¢0.02 at GH¢2.42 and Fan Milk Limited was stronger by GH¢0.01 at GH¢3.67.


Market capitalisation ended the session up at GH¢15,748.10 million compared to GH¢15,744.90 million on Friday.
