Contractors must observe the law

Kumasi, July 18, Ghanadot/GNA – Kwame Kyeremateng Mensah Aborampah, Chairman for the Progressive Road Contractors Association (PROCA) in Ashanti Region, has appealed to contractors in the region to acquire genuine documents for their contracts.

He said forged documents such as accents, social security business plan and others tarnish the image of the business and prevent contractors from getting big contracts.

Nana Mensah Aborampah, who was speaking during a general meeting of PROCA in Kumasi on Thursday, said he would have nothing to do or support any member who uses fake documents to transact his business when that person is caught.

PROCA, which is made up of about 75% of the contractors in the Ashanti Region, was established in November last year with the objective of seeing to the proper construction of roads in the country and also seeing to the welfare of the road contractors by helping its members with credit facilities, logistics and others.

Nana Mensah Aborampah said the executives of the association traveled to Belgium recently to negotiate for the purchase of equipments such as trucks and bulldozers from the Trade Maintenance Service (TMS) for its members.

The equipment would be paid for by installment.
