Takoradi Poly students still unwilling to write exams
Takoradi, July 16, GNA - Several students of the Takoradi
Polytechnic have refused to write their end of second
semester examinations, which were rescheduled for Monday.
The examinations were supposed to have been held on July 9,
but were postponed to July 16 after the Students'
Representative Council petitioned the School's Council
through the Parliamentary Select committee on Education.
The students, who had been agitating against alleged
mismanagement by the authorities, said they needed more time
to prepare for the papers. They had also demanded the
suspension of the school's Principal.
At around 0700 hours on Monday when the Ghana News Agency (GNA)
visited the campus, groups of students were holding writing
materials and were heard discussing the pending examinations
while others went about other activities unconcerned.
Invigilators for the examinations were at post waiting for
the students but only a handful of them were seated for the
examination. These were mainly Catering students.
They were however heckled by their unwilling students.
