Two chiefs say NPP could perform well
in Ketu-South
Aflao, July 9, Ghanadot/GNA- Togbui
Amenya Fiti V, paramount chief of Aflao traditional area, on
Tuesday said with workable strategies and hard work, the New
Patriotic Party (NPP), could overturn the pattern of voting
in its favour in the Ketu-South district in the 2008
Election.
He observed that “Aflao has become cosmopolitan and this
could change the pattern of the way things were done in the
past", provided the party's local executives adopted
innovative ways of canvassing for votes for the party.
Togbui Addo VII, paramount Chief Klikor, said affinity
existed between Danquah-Busia tradition and the people of
the Volta region in the past and observed that the situation
was re-emerging once again.
The two paramount chiefs said these when Nana Addo Dankwa
Akufo-Addo and leading NPP members paid a courtesy call on
chiefs from the district at Togbui Fiti's palace at Aflao on
Tuesday, during the last leg of the party’s campaign in the
Volta region.
Nana Akufo-Addo said Ghana was on the threshold of
prosperity and needed a president of his calibre to confront
the challenges and expectations of the “new Ghana.”
He gave the assurance that the Volta region like other
regions would be given an equitable share of resources for
d0evelopment.
Nana Akufo-Addo who also addressed a rally at Aflao called
for a rejection of any inclinations towards violence in this
year's elections.
Mr. Yaw Osafo-Marfo, a leading member of the party who said
he was overwhelmed by the tumultuous attendance at the rally
said "Aflao is becoming an NPP world bank and this is
beautiful".
