President Kufuor leaves for Japan

John Agyekum Kufuor leaves Accra on Friday to join other
African leaders selected to participate in this year's Group
of Eight (G8) summit to be held in Toyako-Hokkaido, Japan
from July 7 to 9,2008.
A statement issued and signed by Mr. Andrew Awuni, Press
Secretary to the President and Presidential Spokesman said
the summit has on its agenda the world economy, environment
and climate change, the global food crises, stabilization of
the financial market and achieving the Millennium
Development Goals.
The political agenda will include the Zimbabwean crisis,
Iran's nuclear ambitions, Middle East peace efforts and
terrorism.
The other African leaders selected to participate in the
summit are Presidents Umaru Yar' Adua of Nigeria, Abdoulaye
Wade of Senegal, Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria, Thabo
Mbeki of South Africa, Jakayaa Kikwete of Tanzania and Prime
Minister Meles Zenawi of Ethiopia.
