Bury differences to retain seat Odododiodioo seat
- NDC members urged
Accra, June 29, Ghanadot/GNA- Mr Jonathan Nii Tackie Komme,
Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo Constituency, has
called on members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
to bury their differences and unite to enable the party to
retain the seat in the December general election.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra at the week-end,
he said there was the need for unity “now that the Delegates
Conference to select a parliamentary candidate for the
December general election in our area had been concluded”.
The MP stated that normally during such periods differences
occur as members contested among themselves to get the nod
and pointed out that such contest among democrats should end
with the election of the parliamentary candidate.
“It should not be acrimonious to the extent that it will
create or lead to division within the same party”.
“As democrats who love their party we should understand that
in any contest there is always one winner and all true
members of the NDC should bury their hatchets and unite to
ensure victory,” the MP stated.
Mr Tackie Komme appealed to the contestants who lost the
primaries to forget the past and educate their supporters to
forge ahead and support the elected parliamentary candidates
for the “battle ahead”.
He noted that even though the primary in his area had been
completed, that was not the ultimate, “There should be no
sitting on the fence and all should forget the past and bury
our sentiments”, adding that, “This is the time all true
members of the NDC should come together to enable the party
to retain the seat and win the Presidential election”.
The MP congratulated the contestants for their maturity in
accepting the results of the primary and appealed to them to
join hands with the executives to form a strong unified
campaign team to mobilize members to ensure a resounding
victory for the NDC in the elections.
