Mrs. Akufo-Addo on campaign tour in Ashanti Region

Kumasi, June 25, GNA – Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the NPP presidential aspirant, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call, on the Asantehemaa, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaah Ampem, at Manhyia in Kumasi.

 

Mrs Akufo-Addo is being accompanied on the tour by Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, Mrs Sophia Honah-Sam, former Deputy Western Regional Minister, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive as well as wives of some of the losing NPP presidential aspirants.


From Manhyia palace, Mrs Akufo-Addo together with her entourage and accompanied by a large retinue of party faithful, drove in a convoy through some principal streets of Kumasi.


Party supporters, mostly women clad in party clothes and other paraphernalia, sang and cheered as the convoy passed by while passer-bys and traders shouted in response even though some of them were not aware of the persons in the convoy.


Mrs Akufo-Addo is expected to address market women and other identifiable women groups in the metropolis.
