ABL to inject $20million more next
year
Accra, June 23, 2008 Ghanadot/GNA - Accra Brewery Limited, a
subsidiary of the SABMiller, one of the world’s largest
brewer is to inject an additional 20 million dollars into
the Ghanaian economy next year.
Mr Mark Bowman, SABMiller Africa announced this in Accra
when he paid a two-day working visit to Ghana to launch the
company’s new brand, “Chairman Malt Liquor”.
A statement signed by Ms Adjoba Kyiamah, Corporate Affairs
Manager of the company and copied to the Ghana News Agency
on Monday, said the investment would enable ABL build
capacity and be more competitive in the brewery market.
It said Mr Bowman called on President Kufuor at the Castle,
Osu where he outlined the vision and future of ABL/SABmiller
to him.
Mr Bowman also informed President Kufuor about ABL’s current
initiative to develop and train National Service personnel
in sales and distribution.
Mr Bowman was accompanied by ABL Board Chairman, Dr Charles
Mensa, the Managing Director Grant Liversage, and Richard
Edzeame, the Technical Director of ABL.
After the meeting the delegation also paid a courtesy call
on Mrs. Mary Chinery-Hesse, Special Advisor to the
President.
