NDC elects NADMO official to contest New Juaben Constituency

Owusu Boakye, 43, an official of National Disaster
Management Organization (NADMO) was on Tuesday elected
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate
for New Juaben Constituency at the Party’s primaries held in
Koforidua.
He was elected unopposed following the withdrawal of his
opponent Mr Johnson Kwabla Tette-pey, an educationist.
Mr Boakye, elated expressed appreciation to the delegates
for the confidence reposed in him and called for concerted
efforts from all and sundry to enable the party wrestle the
seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He urged the youth who had attained the voting age of 18
years to register when the voters register was re-opened
next month.
Mr Boakye said due to the hardship imposed on Ghanaians by
the government, they were yearning for the NDC to return to
power to save them.
Mr Tawiah Boateng, Eastern Regional Organizer of NDC, called
on those who would supervise the voters’ registration
exercise to be extra vigilant to ensure ghost names were
eliminated.
He called for unity among the supporters to ensure a
landslide victory in the December general elections for the
NDC.
Mr Boateng denied allegations that the NDC would abolish the
National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) when it assumed
power.
He said on the contrary, the Party would resource the NYEP
to ensure that its employees were placed on good salaries to
contribute to the Social Security Fund (SSF) to guarantee
their future.
Mr Anthony Gyampoh, Eastern Regional Secretary of NDC urged
their supporters to be bold and resist any attempt by the
NPP to intimidate them on the Election Day.
He urged them to be prepared to counter any negative
propaganda NPP supporters would wage against the Party to
misinform rural dwellers.
