Atuahene appointed Managing Director of ADB
Accra, April 1, Ghanadot/GNA – President
John Agyekum Kufuor has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Yaw
Opoku Atuahene as the Managing Director of the Agricultural
Development Bank.
The confirmation takes effect from March 14 2008, a
statement from the bank released by Mr Daniel Koomson, Head
of the Public Relations Unit, said on Tuesday.
Mr. Atuahene had acted in that position since January 1 this
year when the position became vacant.
An Agricultural Economist, Poultry Scientist and
Project/Financial Analyst, Mr. Atuahene was first appointed
to ADB in 2001 as a Deputy Managing Director in-charge of
Credit and Administration.
Until his confirmation as the substantive Managing Director,
he was in charge of Credit and Banking Operations of the
Bank.
He had previously worked at National Investment Bank (NIB)
and Prudential Bank.
Mr Atuahene, a product of Adisadel College, Cape Coast, won
a scholarship and proceeded to the Oregon State University,
USA, in 1972 where he graduated with BSc (Agricultural &
Resource Economics), MSc (Poultry Science) and M. A.
(Economics,
Statistics & Extension Methods) Degrees at the end of his
studies.
He also has to his credit certificates in Basic Project
Appraisal, Investment Project Appraisal, Investment Analysis
and Management, and Agriculture Project Planning with
Computer Application.
Mr. Atuahene is married and has six daughters.
