$85m SSNIT loan for roads construction approved

Badu (B/A), March 27, Ghanadot/GNA – Parliament has approved a loan of 85 million dollars from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust towards the construction of a number of roads nationwide.

Mr Joe Danquah, Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency in Brong-Ahafo announced this at Badu, when he interacted with Assembly Members and opinion leaders during a visit to the area.

He said the road network from Tainso to Badu was among the roads that would benefit from the loan package and explained that the long existing problems of the people would therefore be eliminated as well as enhanced the development of the area.
“Every thing about the tender of the road has been completed and awaiting the award of the contract”, Mr. Danquah added.

He gave the assurance that the project would start before the end of the year and advised the people to exercise restraint since Government would not fail in its promise to the people.

Mr Yaw Asamoah-Zak, Assembly Member for Badu West, commended the MP for initiating a number of development programmes in the area and gave assurance that the people would also offer him the necessary support and encouragement.

He expressed the hope that, if the Tainso-Badu road was tarred, the NPP would obtain 100 percent votes in the forthcoming general election.
