Ministry to organize agenda 2015 workshop

Accra, March 25, Ghanadot/GNA – The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (MoESS) to organize a three-day national sports strategic plan workshop next month.


The workshop which would beg from April 2 would be under the theme, “Sustaining Ghana’s Sports Development on the momentum of CAN 2008 towards Agenda 2015”.


Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, Director of Sports Development at the Ministry told GNA Sports that the event is aimed at setting goals and objectives for sports development, promotion and momentum building generated by the African Cup of Nations that Ghana hosted last month.


“It will also set an agenda for a more business focus and scientific approach to Ghana’s endeavours.”


Dr Owusu-Ansah said within the agenda, strategic priorities, actions and partnership would be planned with additional commitments and resources secured for the achievement of stated goals within specific periods.


Ms Elizabeth Ohene, Minister of State, Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of MoESS, Eto Essuman, Chief Director and Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of Ghana 2008 would address the workshop.


Dr Owusu-Ansah said participants would be drawn from all sports associations and other stakeholders, Ministries, Departments and Agencies and sponsors among others.
