CPP flag bearer calls on Asantehene

Kumasi, March 19, Ghanadot/GNA – Dr Paa Kwasi Nduom, the Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Wednesday called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The flag bearer, who is in the region to meet party members, identifiable economic groups and other personalities, was accompanied by the party’s Steering Committee members and party functionaries.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said all political parties were after the welfare and the development of all Ghanaians and it therefore behoved on party leaders to refrain from insults and rather explain their programmes and how to arrive at those programmes.

He said members and supporters of all political parties expected tangible messages from political leaders before making their choices and they should tell the people promises they could fulfil.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu said there was the need for all political parties to employ the message of peace and unity as part of their campaign strategies because most of the people had nowhere to go in case of any crises arising out of the election.

He called on the members and the supporters to truthfully support the flag bearer at all levels so that the party could achieve its aims and objectives to bring development and progress to all Ghanaians.

Dr. Nduom said it was the CPP that started with the development of the nation and would not do anything to destroy that feat, adding that it was committed to win power and bring development to the people.

He said the party had the right and experienced people to lead the party to victory, adding that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had done well and should this time around leave the scene for CPP to continue to develop the country.
