Safety Commission (NRSC) on Wednesday called on the Police
to strengthen its collaboration in the collection and
analysis of road traffic data.

not only expensive but time consuming as well and also an
important component in shaping policy formulation and the
enforcement of tactics in combating road accidents."
Speaking during the presentation of road safety equipment to
the Traffic Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Mr Appiah said
as part of the NRSC's Strategy in combating road accidents,
all efforts would be made to support and build both human
and technical capacities in the enforcement of traffic
regulations.

sensors, speed radar guns, vehicle height gauges, reflective
jackets and reflective buttons.
He said very soon, the NSRC would hold discussions with the
Police Administration with the aim of introducing road
safety modules in both the Police Training School and the
Police College.
"The NRSC will support these institutions with course
content development, resource persons and materials", he
added.
Mr. Appiah expressed appreciation to the Road Fund and
DANIDA for providing funds for the equipment.

to the NRSC for its assistance to the Police, adding that
the equipment would help the Police tremendously in its
efforts in reducing road accidents.
"The budget of the Police was so tight that it did not make
provisions for such equipment and therefore this gesture is
much welcome", he added.
