Obama surges ahead in New Hampshire


AFP - Monday, January 7, MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (AFP) - - Eleventh-hour polls show Democrat Barack Obama surging ahead in New Hampshire, threatening to deal a second painful blow to Hillary Clinton's White House hopes.

The former first lady's once iron-clad lead in the northeastern state appeared to evaporate as voters flocked to the young senator from Illinois, riding the wave of his stunning Iowa victory late last week.

Two separate polls showed Obama pulling into a double-digit lead over Clinton, just days before the small northeastern state goes to the polls Tuesday to make its bellwether pick of presidential candidates....
