CPP Members in unity call
Accra, January 7, Ghanadot/GNA - The International
Convention People's Party Forum (ICPPF), an affiliate of the
Convention People's Party (CPP) on Monday called for Unity
in the party to win this year's presidential elections.
"The aim of CPP lies in unity, a unified purpose, policy and
action for progress and the development of Ghana”, it said.
This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by Dr.
Kenneth Yanney, an executive member of ICPPF to Dr Paa Kwesi
Nduom, flagbearer of the Convention People's Party.
ICPPF is a group of professionals coming from the political,
economic, social, health and other identifiable
professionals based outside the country mainly in Europe,
United State of America who seek to mobilise resources to
support the CPP's bid to win Election 2008.
The statement regretted that there were un-progressive
forces of disunity, which may cause the party dearly if not
checked and added, "Unless we find a solution to this
obvious and very powerful threat, it will destroy us one by
one."
Whiles congratulating Dr. Nduom for his victory, the
statement appealed to the newly elected executives together
with the CPP flagbearer to put behind them their differences
and bring back victory in the 2008 elections so as to
continue the political vision Dr Kwame Nkrumah had for the
country.
It described Dr. Nduom as a leader without blemish; a leader
with charisma, one who hated corruption and had compassion
for his country, and said the group was hopeful that the
delegates made a good decision and voted for him without any
prejudice.
The statement pledged the unflinching support of ICPPF to
Dr. Nduom and the newly elected executives of the party on
issues of policy decisions needed for development of the
nation.
