Accra, January 7, Ghanadot/GNA - The International Convention People's Party Forum (ICPPF), an affiliate of the Convention People's Party (CPP) on Monday called for Unity in the party to win this year's presidential elections.

"The aim of CPP lies in unity, a unified purpose, policy and action for progress and the development of Ghana”, it said.

This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by Dr. Kenneth Yanney, an executive member of ICPPF to Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, flagbearer of the Convention People's Party.

ICPPF is a group of professionals coming from the political, economic, social, health and other identifiable professionals based outside the country mainly in Europe, United State of America who seek to mobilise resources to support the CPP's bid to win Election 2008.

The statement regretted that there were un-progressive forces of disunity, which may cause the party dearly if not checked and added, "Unless we find a solution to this obvious and very powerful threat, it will destroy us one by one."

Whiles congratulating Dr. Nduom for his victory, the statement appealed to the newly elected executives together with the CPP flagbearer to put behind them their differences and bring back victory in the 2008 elections so as to continue the political vision Dr Kwame Nkrumah had for the country.

It described Dr. Nduom as a leader without blemish; a leader with charisma, one who hated corruption and had compassion for his country, and said the group was hopeful that the delegates made a good decision and voted for him without any prejudice.

The statement pledged the unflinching support of ICPPF to Dr. Nduom and the newly elected executives of the party on issues of policy decisions needed for development of the nation.
