ECG emphasizes good customer relations for progress

Tema, Aug. 9, GNA -- Employees of Electricity Company of Ghana (EGC) were on Friday urged to exhibit good human relations to build confidence in their customers to ensure sound business transaction.

Mr Robert Dwamena, Director of Materials and Transport of ECG who made the call said any laxity displayed by the staff could delay payment of bills by customers and retard progress of the company.

He gave the advice at the induction of seven-member National Executives of ECG Senior Staff Association into office at Tema.

The executive committee who would serve for four years are, Mr Michael Twum Boadu, President, Mr Jacob Sagoe, Vice President, Mr William Boateng, Secretary and Mrs Doreen Gyebi, Assistant Secretary.

The rest are Mr Joseph Lamptey, Treasurer, Mr Paul Okine, Organising Secretary and Mr William Addy, Assistant Organising Secretary.

Mr Dwamena noted that reports about some ECG officials were not favourable and asked the association to ensure discipline prevailed among the entire staff to project good image to the public and work hard to achieve their set target.

He appealed to them to support management by offering constructive suggestions and contributions to put them on track to administer the company effectively and efficiently.

Mr Dwamena warned that recalcitrant employees whose conduct brought the company into disrepute must be dismissed.

Mr Emmanuel Ashitey Armah, Immediate Past President of the association who is also Manager of Dansoman branch of the company, advised the executives to guard against uncomplimentary statements in order not to lose respect from their subordinates.

He implored them to lead exemplary lives to leave a legacy for the company.
