British leadership guru holds
leadership management lecture
Accra, May 21, GNA - Professor John Adair, the
world's leading authority on leadership and
leadership development, on Monday paid a curtsey
call on Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, Asantehene at the
Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Mr. Albert Eliason, Head of Marketing and Business
Development, British Council in an interview with
the Ghana News Agency said Prof.
Adair arrived in the country last night at the
invitation of the Council for a three-day
facilitation of its bi-monthly Management Express
Management programme. He would, later in the day
hold a management seminar for professionals aspiring
for leadership roles in Kumasi and proceed to Accra,
where he would address separate workshops on Tuesday
May 22 and Wednesday May 23 2007.
The British Council's bi-monthly Management Express
Management programme seeks to enhance leadership
qualities in managers, Businessmen and politicians
and the topic for the premier lecture in Kumasi
would be under the theme; "Not bosses but Leaders,
The Challenge of Leadership Today."
Prof. Adair, who is one of Britain's most renowned
leadership trainer and recognised globally as the
leading management and leadership guru has addressed
audiences in over 26 countries.
He has mentored over one million Managers
world-wide, including the United Kingdom's top 100
Chief Executive Officers and also taught in many
renowned institutions such as the Royal Military
Academy Sandhurst, where many of Ghana's leading
military Officers had trained over the years," Mr
Eliason said.
The British company ICI earned its first billion
pound profit with his advice and training.
The programme of Prof. Adair who has authored over
40 books in good leadership and translated them into
many languages would include interactions with
selected Chief Executives of various businesses and
political leaders.
Other topics to be treated are; "The challenges of
leadership today, The Chief Executive as Strategic
Leader, Developing leaders, The Action-centred
leadership approach and Leadership for Nation
Building."
