11-member National Hajj Committee inaugurated

Accra, July 6, Ghanadot - His
Eminence, Mallam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, the National
Chief Imam of Ghana has inaugurated an 11-member National
Hajj Committee to organise this year's Hajj pilgrimage to
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The committee is under the chairmanship of Alhaji Alhassan
Bene, with representatives from the Chief Imam's Office,
Federation of Women's Organisations in Ghana (FOMWAG),
Muslims Caucus in Parliament, and other recognised Muslim
organisations.
His Eminence Nuhu Sharabutu, in his inaugural address,
advised the newly composed committee to be selfless,
dedicated and sacrificial in this spiritual task ahead of
them.
He called on the Muslim Community to support the committee
to undertake its mandate successfully.
The Chief Imam prayed for God's guidance and protection for
the President of Ghana and the nation as whole.
Alhaji Alhassan Bene, the Chairman of the Committee, on
behalf of the committee thanked the Chief Imam for the
confidence reposed in them and assured him of their
commitment and determination to operate an effective,
efficient, clean Hajj devoid of rancour and disappointments.

has shutdown again. According to the Chief Executive Officer
of TOR, Dr Kwame Ampofo, the shutdown became necessary at
the insistence of its engineers to enable them carry out
full maintenance works to ensure that the refinery operates
at full capacity.
