Floating Oil Production Storage and Offload facility to arrive Mid-year

A vessel that produces, stores and offloads oil into tankers on the sea is expected to arrive in the country in the middle of this year. It Is known as Floating Production Storage and Offload, FPSO, The facility is currently under construction for TALLOW in Singapore but different aspects of it is being built in other parts of the world.

The Communications Manager of TULLOW Oil Ghana Limited, Gayheart Mensah, disclosed this at a media update on the jubilee Oil Field Project for journalists in the Western Region in Takoradi. He said a naming ceremony for the FPSO will be held soon after its arrival. Mr. Gayheart Mensah, said work is far advanced for the drilling of oil to begin later this year as scheduled. He said already most of the lead equipment have been installed and pipes laid on the ocean floor.

Mr. Mensah gave the assurance that TULLOW Ghana Limited has come to stay taken into consideration the huge investment the company and its partners have made in the Oil Project and TOLLOW'S decision to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange. He commended the media in the Western Region for their high standard of professionalism in reporting on the activities of TULLOW Ghana Limited and the emerging oil and gas industry.

Mr. Gayheart Mensah advised the media to continue to seek clearance on their reportage on the industry in order to make them authentic. The International Relations Manager of Tullow Ghana Limited, Kofi Essuon, said the company is formulating a programme to train journalists on effective reportage on the oil industry and the workings of the sector. This, he said would enable them to give accurate information to the public on the industry.
