NDC must foot my airfare bill-Spio-Garbrah
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, Nov 2, Ghanadot - Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah has stated that his party would have to foot his airfare back home from the UK when he is formally invited for a meeting over the media war between him and Mr Ato Ahwoi, a senior member of the party.

The CEO of the Commonwealth Telecommunication Organisation has been in town for the past two weeks for the meeting which was never convened.

He availed himself to the party headquarters for discussions over an internal rumpus stirred between him and Mr. Ahwoi.

The disturbance was stirred by a strongly-worded open letter written to Dr Spio Garbrah by Mr Ahwoi in the Daily Dispatch newspaper.

It was in reaction to Dr Spio-Garbrah’s September 18 article in the Daily Graphic, which was interpreted by Mr Ahwoi as an attempt on Dr Garbrah’s part to intimidate President John Mills into appointing him as a Cabinet minister.

The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho latched onto Mr Ahwoi’s letter and also lashed out at Dr Spio Garbrah in subsequent media interviews.

The Chairman of the NDC, Dr Kwabena Agyei called a truce and suggested the two parties met the national executives to thrash out issues.

Dr Garbrah leaves for his UK office coming weekend. He told the Citi Breakfast Show Host Moro Awudu that the party would need to pick his travel expenses once a formal invitation is extended to him to fly down
for the intended meeting.
