Prof. Ablade Glover chairs the NCC board

Accra, Aug 19, Ghanadot - President Atta Mills, in consultation with the Council of State, has appointed nine persons to the Board of the National Commission on Culture.

The board is chaired by Professor Ablade Glover.

Members of the board are Mrs. Kyei Mensah, Mr. Efo Kodjo Mawugbe, Rev. O.T. Dawson Amoah, Mrs. Matilda Gaisie, Mr. Samuel Awuah-Nyamekye, Mrs. Irene Akoto-Marfo, Dr. Ben Abdallah and Nana Ama Amissah III.

J.K. Bebaako Mensah, Secretary to the President, said the list takes precedence over any previous one.

Accra, Aug 17, Ghanadot - The Minister for the Interior, Cletus Avoka, has imposed a curfew on the town of Akwatia. This follows violent clashes on Sunday between supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party. .More

Commentary, Aug 17, Ghanadot - If the above question were asked today, I would have to say not yet. A better Ghana was President Mills’ promise. But judging by what is going on at Akwatia now that political promise is way off track.
