50,000 and two sureties to reappear in court on the 29th of
July, 2009.

not sneak out of the country before her next appearance.

intentionally assaulting a public officer, using abusive
words against a public officer and struggling with a public
official to take her passport from him.
Former Minister of parliamentary Affairs, Felix Owusu
Agyepong, Former Foreign Minister Osei Agyei, and Ceceilia
Dapaah, amongst others, thronged the Cocoa Affairs Court on
Thursday for solidarity with their
former colleague’s wife.
She was dragged to court following a dramatic occurrence
between her and some operatives of the Bureau of National
Investigations (BNI) at the Kotoka International Airport a
few weeks ago.
Asamoah Boateng and his family were on Sunday June 14,
traveling out of the country when their passports were
seized at the Kotoka International Airport by men who
claimed to be operatives of the BNI.
Opening her defence in court on Thursday, Zuleka Boateng
pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
Her Counsel, Peter Okudzeto explained that her client’s
action was in resistance to unknown people who approached
them and attempted to impede them from travelling. Her
lawyer, based on the explanation pleaded that her client be
admitted to bail.
