BNI to sue Asamoah Boateng’s wife
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, June 15, Ghanadot - The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has threatened Zuleka Lorwia, wife of former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng to take legal action against her for hampering justice.

According to them Mrs. Asamoah Boateng’s attitude towards some national security operatives was inappropriate.

Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa speaking on Joy FM, said Mrs. Asamoah Boateng could have been allowed to board the flight if not for her unruly behaviour.

He said the action of the former minister's wife amounted to an obstruction of justice; a behaviour he said is actionable.

Over the weekend, two officials from the BNI stopped Mr. Asamoah Boateng and his family, who were due to board a British Airways flight at the Kotoka International Airport, to the United States of America

Reason for the prevention was that Mr. Asamoah Boateng was prevented from proceeding on his journey because he is needed to answer some questions relating to the award of a contract for the renovation of the Information Ministry building.

Mrs. Asamoah Boateng enraged by the action of the national security operatives engaged them in a brawl.

Meanwhile Mr. Asamoah Boateng has denied suggestions that he was running away from justice, saying his visit to the U.S is a brief one and has nothing to do with running away.

But Zuleka Lorwia has denied obstructing justice and that as far as she is concerned the men who took custody of her husband’s passport were not BNI operatives since there was no evidence to that effect.

She said the action was to protect her family from a group of unknown men who decided to obstruct them from travelling without any explanations, adding that the incident has left her injured and her children traumatized.
