Golden Tulip Accra Rewards Best Worker

Accra, Feb 9, Ghanadot - Golden Tulip Accra has honoured a driver Mr. Fred Okai, who was selected by the staff as the Golden Tulip Accra worker of the year.

Addressing the ceremony, the General Manager of Golden Tulip, Mr. Reinier Kappner said the award was in line with the principles of Golden Tulip International Group which continued to place maximum value on its workforce as the source of quality service clients.

Mr. Kappner explained that the hotel has over the past 17 years placed great emphasis on the formal and informal training of its personnel to enable them to maintain and enhance quality service delivery.

He congratulated Mr. Okai and said he had proved he was a good leader who gave reward where it was due and punished when necessary.  He added that Mr. Okai had applied the hotels 'energetic values' of service mindedness and helpfulness to all his endevours.

The General Manager urged all staff to emulate Mr. Okai's example and to apply the hotel's values in order to make it the preferred choice in the country.

Mr. Okai received a branded laptop, cash of $650 and a certificate. The award was presented by Mr. Kappner, Mr. Francis Judd, the Financial Controller and Mrs. Bertha de Graft-Johnson, Sales and Marketing Manager.

The winner expressed his appreciation for the recognition accorded him and dedicated the award to his co-workers.

Mrs. de Graft-Johnson disclosed that the winner was selected from a field of 11 candidates who were the departmental best workers of 2008.
