Regional Commanders Parade is re-introduced

Kumasi, June 26, Ghanadot/GNA - The Ghana Police Service has re-introduced the Regional Commanders’ Parade and it will be held monthly.

The parade would be an occasion for the Regional Commanders to examine physical fitness and mental alertness of personnel, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Patrick Eden Timbillah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, has said.

He was speaking a Regional Police Commanders Parade held at the Police Training School in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Mr Timbilla said the parade would enable police personnel to continuously refresh their skills in drills to help promote discipline and endurance, ensure check smart turn out and rekindle alertness.

He said the Police Service was under-going renaissance and its mission statement was competence and professionalism to enable it to salvage the sunken image of the profession.

Mr Timbillah appealed to personnel to be proactive, show affection to the public, avoid torture, violence and ill treatment, show respect for human rights and desist from corruption and abuse of power.
