Fetish priest cuts the head of deceased grandmother

Suhum (E/R), May 12, Ghanadot/GNA - Kudjo Movi, a 31-year-old fetish priest who allegedly cut the head of his deceased grandmother, was on Tuesday arraigned before the Suhum Magistrate Court presided over by Miss Edem Kokuvie-Tay.

Movi’s plea was not taken and was remanded and will re-appear on May 21.

Police Chief Inspector Ben Brew told the court that Madam Abla Kumodzi, 80, was buried two months but on April 29 people saw that her tomb had been broken into, the coffin removed and her head cut off and taken away.

He said the people informed family members of the deceased who informed the police.

During investigations an uncle of Movi told the police that on April 27 he visited him in his house and during their conversation, the accused person told him that some people had contacted him to get them a human head.

According to the prosecutor the uncle advised the accused not to indulge himself in “Sakawa” business because when arrested he would not be spared.

The head of the deceased has not been found.
