Bank official remanded for stealing customers’ deposits
Ajumako (C/R), May 11,
Ghanadot/GNA — The Ajumako districtmagistrate court has remanded an employee of Assinman
RuralBank Agency at Ajumako for
embezzling 9,500.00 Ghana cedis
belonging to six customers of the bank.
Eric Acquah pleaded guilty to five of the six and he is toreappear on May 11.
Prosecuting Police chief Inspector Maxwell Emmanuel Akorleytold the court that in April, an auditing report showed
that Acquahhad withdrawn a total of
9,500.00 Ghana cedis from the accounts
of the six customers between November 2006 and February 2009.
Police investigations revealed that Acquah used a greater part
ofthe money to buy cars.
