Vodafone to support disengaged staff

Accra, March 17, Ghanadot/GNA – The Staff of Ghana Telecom (GT) who opted for Vodafone’s recent offer for voluntary disengagement are to benefit from a customized transition programme to enable them manage their detachment effectively as they seek other job opportunities elsewhere.

The programme, involving counselling and training had been designed to help the disengaged staff to obtain deeper appreciation of Vodafone’s current position and make a smooth transition in life, a statement by Vodafone’s Corporate Communications Department said on Tuesday.

“Vodafone is concerned that the staff are equipped with basic skills to plan and manage their personal finances better, with particular reference to their disengagement package,” it said.

Those desiring to set up their own business would be given entrepreneurial training, whilst those seeking regular employment contracts would be assisted to enhance their chances.

“These transition support arrangements are in accordance with Vodafone’s cherished values and best practice in People Management Principles,” the statement added.
