Stanbic deepens corporate social responsibility-With $50,000 donation to 3 orphanages

Accra, July 12, Ghanadot - Stanbic
Bank Ghana, one of the leading universal banks operating in
the country, has deepened its corporate social
responsibility with the donation of quality assorted home
equipment to three orphanages in Accra, Tema and Asiakwa,
all worth at $50,000.
The items included sound system, television sets, furniture,
refrigerators and household equipment.
While, others safety materials including fire extinguishers
as well as poly tanks, indoor airconditioners unit, outdoor
airconditioners unit and washing machines.
The beneficiary organizations were Osu Children’s Home, SOS
Children’s Villages, both in Tema and Asiakwa and children
at the Castle Road Hospital.
Making the donation in Accra, the Managing Director of
Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mr. Alhassan Andani appealed to various
homes in the country to continue to take good care of the
children, saying “they are the future leaders”.
Touching on plans to meet the Bank of Ghana’s $60million
minimum capital requirement for foreign banks operating the
country, Mr. Andani disclosed that the bank would invest
between $10million and $14million to support the bank’s
drive to meet the directive, this year.
The Managing Director indicated that the bank was making
great strides in the Ghanaian competitive banking industry,
by organically opening branches across the length and
breadth of the country.
Instructively, from just three branches in 2006, Stanbic
Bank Ghana now has 22 branches throughout the country and
poised to offer quality and prompt services to Ghanaians.
Mr. Andani, revealed that the bank has also improved its
status from Tier 1 to Tier 3, according to Pricewater
HouseCoopers ranking.
